Theindonesiatoday.com - Government of Indonesia has finally signed principles of agreement for the development of giant gas field East Natuna (previously Natuna D-Alpha) with Pertamina, Esso Natuna Ltd (subsidiary of ExxonMobil), Total E&P, and Petronas.
The principles of agreement was signed this morning (Friday, August 19) in JAKARTA by director general of oil and gas Evita Legowo and representatives of Pertamina, ExxonMobil, Total & Petronas.
The principles of agreement will lead to a preparation of production sharing contract (PSC) for the giant block. East Natuna contains gas reserves of 46 TCF, but with 71% carbon dioxide content. Government said the projects needs between six and 10 years to develop the gas field.
This morning, Pertamina and Mobil Cepu Ltd (subsidiary of ExxonMobil) have also signed heads of agreement for the unitization of Jambaran-Tiung Biru field. The process will lead to development of Jambaran-Tiung Biru as a separate entity of Cepu Block, which is also operated by Pertamina and ExxonMobil. (ferdi@theindonesiatoday.com)
