Arc Confirms Two New Prospects in Trenggalek

SYDNEY, Indonesia Today - Arc Exploration Ltd, a company controlled by Indonesian-businessman George Tahija, confirms two new prospects discoveries at Trenggalek Gold Project, East Java, while Bima project seeks for solution following one-year halt of its exploration license.

Exploration at Trenggalek is focussed on prospecting in areas outside of the production forest and resulted in two new prospects: Sumber Bening and Bogoran, which being identified on the western side of the tenement. The prospects claimed to have potential for shallow bulk tonnage gold.

Surface works as well as samplings are proposed to further evaluate the porphyry targets for both prospects.

Meanwhile, consultation continued with Ministry of Forestry for the renewal of the forestry use permit for the Trenggalek project.

In the meantime, following the suspension of Exploration IUP for one year starting from December 23rd, 2011 on its Bima Project, Arc will continue to seek resolution of the current situation.

The Bima Project was put on halt following fatalities on a demonstration, demanding the revocation of PT Sumber Mineral Nusantara’s exploration license. The demonstrators accused the company for damaging the nature following gold production activity, but the company denied the allegation.

Additionally, forestry use permit for its Strategic Alliance Project with Anglo American PLC in West Papua is still ongoing. (bintang@theindonesiatoday.com)
