PT Kideco Jaya Agung, the third largest coal producer in Indonesia, reported coal sales of 7.3 million tons in the first quarter of 2010, surged 25.5% from the same period last year.
Kideco, 46% shares owned by Indika Energy, reported coal production of 6.9 million in Q1/10, soared 29.6% from the same period last year, while coal stripping ratio increased 11.5% to 6.49x. Kideco produced 24.7 million tons of coal last year.
Indika also indirectly controls 50% shares in PT Santan Batubara, a JV between Indika's subsidiary Petrosea and PT Harum Energy. Santan Batubara started coal production in March 2009 with 1.25 million tons of output last year. The company seeks 2.5 million tons of output this year.
Indika stock closed at Rp2725 last Friday. At that price, Indika has market capitalization of Rp14.19 trillion or about US$1.6 billion. The stock has gained 22.5% this year.
