Theindonesiatoday.com - PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of state-owned mining company PT Pertamina, plans to develop 14 wells on Matindok gasfield, Central Sulawesi, by fourth quarter (Q4) of 2014.
President Director of Pertamina EP, Syamsu Alam, said on a press statement that the activity may monetize matindok gas production up to 105 mmscfd. From the number, around 85 mmscfd will be delivered to LNG Senoro while 20 mmscfd will be distributed to state-utility company PT PLN.
Separately, Pertamina EP’s Public Relation Manager, Agus Amperianto, said the company has drilled the third well out from 14. The drilling will commence up until 2013. “Based on first and second well drilling results the gas flows up to 5 mmscfd, while the drilling costs around US$6-7 per well,” he stated.
The company claimed the gas production reached 1,038 mmscfd as of October 2011. The number has increased significantly in the past five years. It only produced around 896 mmscfd in 2006.
Agus stated Pertamina EP’s gas production is distributed to PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS), industrial needs (20%), fertilizer industries (18%), power plant (25%), and the rest for Pertamina’s refinery. (ferdi@theindonesiatoday.com)
