Kontan.co.id, online publication of Kontan business paper, reported Hemoco has secured the license since 1996 and plans to continue its project following tax holiday policy for refinery projects.
Evita Legowo, director general Oil and Gas at the ministry said Hemoco has yet to renew its license.
Achmad Latief Alwy, Executive Vice President of Hemoco Selayar International Oil Refinery, however, told Kontan that the company was submitting a permit renewal to the Investment Cordinating Bord (BKPM ). "We are in the process now,” said Latief.
The company had earlier claimed to have secured financing support from Germany bank. The company has also signed agreement with potential buyer from Japan. There is also a 300,000 bpd of crude oil supply from Kuwait Petroleum Company. The project, however, can't move because partners were asking tax holiday. (ferdi@theindonesiatoday.com)
