The benchmark September contracts of CPO on Malaysia Derivatives Exchange declined further by RM11 to RM2279 per ton this morning on oversupply and weak demand.
The spot market price dropped RM40 to RM2340 per ton, while October contracts dropped RM17 to RM2265 per ton. This could be the lowest spot month price this year. The average spot month price in the first six months of 2010 is above RM2500 per ton.
Plantation stocks, meanwhile, are mixed with Bakrie Sumatra Plantation and Gozco Plantation lost 1.37% and 1.56% respectively, while Tunas Baru Lampung gained 1.45% in JAKARTA. Astra Agro unchanged, while London Sumatra declined 0.62%.
In SINGAPORE, First Resources gained 3% on thin trading volume, while Wilmar inched up 0.17%. Indofood Agri Resources and Golden Agri Resources also advanced by 0.98% each. In KUALA LUMPUR, Sime Darby and IOI lost ground by 1.2% and 0.2%, while Kulim and KL Kepong inched up 0.27% and 0.12%.
