Rosalina to Report Minister Asking for Kickbacks

JAKARTA, Indonesia Today - Mindo Rosalina Manulang, athlete dormitory graft key witness and convict, plans to file a report to The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) related to a minister who reportedly asked for kickback from the project.

The report will be filed by Rosalina through her legal representative, Ahmad Rivai, on Thursday (Feb 23). According to Rivai, his client has met with the minister at the minister’s residence in 2010. Attending the meeting were the minister’s employee and Rosalina’s friend.

Rivai explained further that in the meeting, the minister has asked Rosalina for 8% share from athlete dormitory project in Palembang, South Sumatera.

After the meeting, the minister’s employee called Rosalina and asked the share to be paid in advance. Rivai, however, refused to reveal the identity of the minister. He only hinted that the minister is related to the athlete dormitory project.

PPATK has earlier hinted that one or two ministers are linked to illicit funds of Muhammad Nazaruddin, former treasurer of President SBY's Demokrat Party. "Is there any minister linked? Not too many...one or two," said M Yusuf, head of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), in a hearing with the House Commission III (overseeing law and human rights) Monday (Feb 20).

Andi Malarangeng, minister of youth and sports and a politician from President SBY's Demokrat Party, has been under the spotlight because of extensive investigation into the high-profile bribery scandal at the ministry of sport's athlete dormitory project, which also dragged former Demokrat treasurer Muhammad Nazaruddin.
