Theindonesiatoday.com - Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources has today appointed Dr. Ir. Thamrin Sihite, M.E. as the new Director General for Mineral & Coal, replacing Bambang Setiawan who retired on April 1, 2011.
Thamrin previously was head of agency for education and training of energy and mineral resources at the ministry. He was listed as commissioner of state coal miner PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) since 2008.
Thamrin holds a degree in General Mining Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology (1979), Master of Engineering (1987), and Doctor of Engineering (1990) from Institute of Mineral Dressing and Metallurgy, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan.
The ministry also appointed Mochamad Teguh Pamudji, S.H., M.H. as Special Staff of Communication and Social Development, and Ir. Ronggo Kuncahyo, M.M. as Director of Electricity Utility Business Development. (bintang@theindonesiatoday.com)
