Richard Owen has spent almost 30 years in various positions of increasing responsibility in ExxonMobil around the world. Prior to arriving in Indonesia, he was Managing Director of both ExxonMobil Production Deutschland GmbH and ExxonMobil Erdgas-Erdol GmbH in Germany.
Richard Owen will be responsible for overseeing all activities of ExxonMobil affiliates in Indonesia and will be seeking to apply his significant business experience to drive the organization to even more success in the coming years.
During the period of 2006–2009, the Government of Indonesia awarded four new exploration blocks to ExxonMobil: Surumana and Mandar Blocks, both located in the deep waters of Makassar Strait; Gunting Block in onshore East Java; and Cendrawasih Block located in deepwater offshore Papua. These exploration blocks are valuable additions to ExxonMobil’s extensive portfolio in Indonesia.
There are approximately 850 employees at ExxonMobil Affiliates in Indonesia. Almost 90 percent are Indonesian, serving in varying capacities including senior managers, engineers, geo-scientists, field operators, accountants, lawyers and administrators. (Indonesia Today)
