Theindonesiatoday.com - Attorney General's Office (AGO) has requested imposition of an overseas travel ban against corruption suspect Indar Atmanto, former president director of PT Indosat Mega Media (IM2).
Andi Nirwanto, Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, said that the travel ban request has been filed to the Immigration Office. Andi also said that he already asked Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence to impose the travel ban. “I have signed to request to Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence for the travel ban,” said Andi as quoted by Detikcom.
AGO has earlier named Indra suspect of a corruption case. “From the expose, we concluded that the investigation into network frequency band corruption case has to be raised to inquiry phase,” said Noor Rachmad, Public Information Head of AGO.
Indar Atmanto has allegedly misused his authority in Indosat’s 2.1 Ghz/3G network frequency band, claimed as IM2 product, while according to Noor, IM2 never participated in the selection of network frequency band. IM2 has, according to Noor, operated the network through Indosat. The project has caused State loss amounting to Rp3.8 trillion.
Noor said that based on the investigation, Indar Atmanto will be charged with article 2 and/or article 3 of Corruption Law No 31/1999 as revised with law No 20/2001. (indra@theindonesiatoday.com)
