Theindonesiatoday.com - The anti-monopoly watchdog, Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU), examines allegation of tender conspiracy in the procurement of medical equipment at Prof Dr Navan Margono hospital in fiscal year 2010 valued Rp6.08 billion.

The tender conspiracy allegation case has entered preliminary examination phase with a council meeting at Horizon Hotel, Semarang, Thursday (Feb 24), Suara Merdeka reported.

The council is chaired by Yoyo Arifardhini, with Benny Pasaribu and Tadjuddin Noer Said as members. Reported party in the case are PT Aerocom Jenco Indonesia, PT Brati Pratama Farma Semarang, PT Enseval Putra Megatrading Tbk Purwokerto branch, and the procurement committee for medical equipment at Margono Hospital.

In this case, PT Aerocom is distributor of medical equipment, PT Brati is Sub Distributor, and PT Enseval is partner of the tender winner.

The report was examined by KPPU investigators Dewi Sita Yuliani and Verdyan Rosawijaya.

According to Dewi, PT Aerocom and PT Brati are suspected of committing a violation of Article 19 letter d of Law No. 5 / 1999 regarding Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unfair Business Competition, which is the practice of discrimination against certain business.

Moreover, Dewi explained that PT Enseval received preferential treatment from PT Brati and Aerokom. PT Aerokom as the owner of goods through PT Brati as a sub-distributor and Enseval as winner of the tender. Three of them were facilitated by the committee to win the tender.

The preliminary examination will be carried out in 30 working days starting yesterday before KPPU decides whether it should enter further investigation or not. (Theindonesiatoday.com)
