The court turned down objection filed by a consortium of PT Pertamina, PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, PT Medco EP Tomori Sulawesi, dan Mitsubishi Corporation.
Mochammad Harun, Pertamina Corporate Communication VP, expressed his disappointment to the decision. According to Harun, Pertamina and its partners did not commit any conspiracy.
KPPU has previously declared the existence of conspiracy between Mitsubishi Corporation, PT Pertamina and PT Medco Energi Internasional in the Donggi – Senoro EPC ‘beauty contest’ to decide the project's winner.
KPPU had fined Pertamina Rp10 billion for violating the Law No 5/1999. Moreover KPPU had also fined PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, PT Medco EP Tomori Sulawesi, and Mitsubishi Corporation, Rp10 billion, Rp1 billion and Rp15 billion respectively. (indra@theindonesiatoday.com)
