Theindonesiatoday.com - The management of oil and gas service company PT Elnusa Tbk (ELSA) will insist PT Bank Mega Tbk (MEGA) to account for the fund of Rp111 billion misused by Elnusa's finance director and other five suspects, Detikfinance.com reported.

"We will insist Bank Mega to account for the fund scam and question its system and procedure (of deposits withdrawal)," Suharyanto, Elnusa's president director, told in a press briefing today.

He said Elnusa's management has on Thursday (April 21) met with the management of Bank Mega and will, as the public company, report the case to capital market regulator (Bapepam-LK) and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on Monday (April 25).

"Bank Mega has not so far issued a written statement (on the fund scam) yet," Suharyanto said.

In the release, Elnusa said the company deposited Rp161 billion fund in Bank Mega in September 7, 2009 and had withdrawn Rp50 billion in March 5, 2010, leaving the deposits to total Rp111 billion.

The company said the deposit was divided into 5 slips, with the last slip was also signed by Elnusa's former president director Eteng. "We have sent notice to each bank about change in Elnusa's board of director," said Suharyanto.

JAKARTA police had on Saturday (April 23) arrested Finance director of oil and gas service company PT Elnusa Tbk (ELSA), with initial name of SN, for being allegedly to have embezzled Elnusa's funds deposited in Bank Mega.

Sr. Comr. Yan Fitri Halimansyah, director of the Jakarta Police’s special crimes unit, said the police had also arrested 5 other persons involved in the fund embezzlement.

That five suspects are IHB (Bank Mega's head of branch for Jababeka), AJ (commissioner of PT Discovery), IL (president director of PT Discovery), Z (employee of PT Discovery), and RL (broker) who is also a fugitive for allegedly embezzling funds of Aceh regional government deposited in Bank Mandiri, Jelambar branch, West Jakarta.

All suspects, Yan said, are charged for money laundering and violating the banking law. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
