Theindonesiatoday.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Wafid Muharam, secretary to the ministry of sports and youth affairs, corruption suspect in relation to the development of SEA Games facilities in Palembang, South Sumatra.
"He has been named suspect," said M Jasin to Detik.com today.
Jasin said KPK has 24 hours to detain the suspect. KPK has yet to name other suspects in the case. "We're focusing on the arrested suspect," Jasin said.
KPK had earlier caught Wafid Muharam and two people (MIU a businessman and R a broker) in the bribery scandal. Wafid reportedly received cheque of Rp2 billion from MIU.
The project at stake is construction of Wisma Atlet in Palembang, nearby the Jakabaring Sport City. The building would accommodate about 4,000 athletes with construction handled by PT Duta Graha Indah (DGIN) Tbk. (Theindonesiatoday.com)
