Theindonesiatoday.com - PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLKM) Tbk has kicked off the fourth shares buyback program this morning. Telkom plans to buyback up to 2.07% of the total issued shares with maximum purchase of Rp3 trillion.
Total shares to be purchased under the program is about 416 million Series B shares, pending approval from shareholders. If approved, Telkom will appoint Bahana Securities as the broker that will conduct the repurchase for a maximum 18 months.
The company plans to set aside Rp3 trillion funds from its retained earnings.
The company has repurchased 490 million shares in the previous buyback programs or about 2.43% of Series B shares issued and outstanding.
TLKM closed at Rp7,350 Monday (Apr 18), declined 7.5% year-to-date. Telkom has lost its crown as the largest company on IDX by market capitalization to Astra International since last year. Three other companies---BCA, Mandiri, and BRI---have since surpassed Telkom's market cap. (Theindonesiatoday.com)
