JAKARTA, Indonesia Today - PT United Tractors (UNTR) Tbk sold 4.489 million tons of own coal last year, jumped 47% from 3.05 million tons in 2010.
According to UNTR's monthly report, subsidiary PT Prima Multi Mineral sold 2.87 million tons last year, while the other subsidiary PT Tuah Turangga Agung sold 1.63 million tons of coal.
December 2010 coal sales reached 500,000 tons or a 19.6% growth from December 2010, mostly because of substantially higher sales from PT Prima Multi Mineral.
UNTR has grown its own-coal business through acquisition of coal concessions. The Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) has recently declared that acquisition of PT Asmin Bara Bronang and PT Asmin Bara Jaan by Pamapersada. With the acquisition, Pamapersada's ownership in both companies doubled to 60.4%. (bintang@theindonesiatoday.com)
