Bakrie Signs $437 Million Term Loan

Theindonesiatoday.com - PT Bakrie & Brothers (BNBR) Tbk and Long Haul Holdings Ltd have on January 12, 2012 signed credit agreement of US$437 million with Credit Suisse AG, SINGAPORE branch as structuring agent.

BNBR informed stock market authorities Monday (Jan 16) that BNBR's portion of the term loan facility is US$193.97 million. No further information provided about proceeds of the term loan, but most likely related to restructuring of ownership at Bumi Plc.

BNBR and Long Haul Holdings Ltd. (collectively known as Bakrie Group) and PT Borneo Lumbung Energi & Metal Tbk (BORN) now jointly own a 47,6% stake in Bumi plc.

Bumi plc is a London-listed mining company, with investments in PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) and PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk (BRAU).

As part of Bumi Plc acquisition, Borneo Lumbung will acquire 45% stake owned by Bakrie Brothers and Long Haul Holdings Ltd in Bumi Borneo Resources Pte Plc and take over 51% stake in Borneo Bumi Energi dan Metal Pte Ltd from Bakrie Brothers and Long Haul.

Assets to be guaranteed for loan are PT Borneo Mining Services and PT Asmin Koalindo Tuhup, as well as the company's cash and assets.

Borneo Lumbung had secured US$1 billion five-year amortising loan from Standard Chartered, for funding the acquisition of Bumi Plc from Bakrie Group. (Indonesia Today)
