Foreign Tourists, Increase 13.28 in November

Theindonesiatoday.com - Total foreign tourists visiting Indonesia reached 654.948 in November 2011, increased 13.28% compared to 578,152 in November 2010. Compared to October 2011, the number declined 0.16%, Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) announced today.

Year to date, foreign tourists totaled 6.93 million, increased 8.91% compared to 6.36 million tourists in January-November 2010.

Total foreign tourists went to Bali, one of the most attractive places in Indonesia, through Ngurah Rai Airport in November 2011, amounted 220,341 tourists, increased 11.93% from 196,856 in November 2011. Compared with October 2011, the number declined 9.85%.

The main gate of Soekarno-Hatta Airport recorded foreign arrival of 171,215 tourists in November 2011, increased 16.02% from 147,579 tourists in November 2010. Compared with October 2011, the number declined 2.20%.

The number of tourists stayed in star hotels in 20 provinces reached an average number of 52.97% in November 2011, rose 2.80 points compared to November 2010 (50.17%). Compared to October 2011 (54.87%), the number fell 1.90 points.

Both domestic and international tourists on average stayed in the star hotels for around 1.93 days in November 2011, increased 0.03 days from November 2010. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
