The benchmark March 2012 contracts gained RM25 to RM2,996 per ton on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange this morning. The commodity dropped to as low as RM2,971 per ton Thursday (Dec 15) to tracking correction in the crude oil market.
April and May 2012 contracts also gained RM19 and RM21 to RM2,989 and RM2,991 per ton respectively, while January contracts at RM2,995 per ton. The commodity has dropped substantially from its peak at around RM4,000 early this year.
On Thursday, KPB Nusantara, the joint marketing office of state plantations withdrew 10 CPO packages auctioned off on low bids. KPB sold five packages in the price range of Rp7,749-7,899 per Kg (VAT 10% included).
Plantation stocks are mixed in the region, but mostly in higher grounds. IOI Corp and United Malacca down 1.36% and 0.3% respectively in KUALA LUMPUR, while Wilmar lost 0.6% in SINGAPORE. PP London Sumatra also down 1.15% in JAKARTA.
Others, however, are gaining grounds, but in narrow range. IndoAgri gains only 0.39% in Singapore, while Astra Agro inches up 0.24% in Jakarta. (Theindonesiatoday.com)
