Theindonesiatoday.com - PT ICI Paints Indonesia, unit of AkzoNobel, expands its decorative paint production capacity in Cikarang, West Java to anticipate strong demand.
Jerry Goei, president director of ICI Paints Indonesia, said the company enjoys 2-2.5 times market growth per annum. PT ICI Paints is a JV between ICI Omicron (AkzoNobel) and PT Dwi Satrya Utama.
The expansion will boost the plant's capacity 3-5 times existing capacity of 20 million liters per month, Media Indonesia reported. The new facility will adopt AkzoNobel's new technology.
AkzoNobel is the largest global paints and coatings company and a major producer of specialty chemicals. AkzoNobel's decorative paint is famous with its Dulux brand.
In Indonesia, AkzoNobel has some subsidiaries, including PT Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes, PT Eka Chemicals Indonesia, and PT International Coatings Indonesia. (ferdi@theindonesiatoday.com)
