Salim Ivomas Gains 9% in Trading Debut

Theindonesiatoday.com - PT Salim Ivomas Pratama (SIMP) Tbk gained 9.09% in its trading debut on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) this morning as the shares were offered at lower bound in an initial public offering (IPO).

SIMP, controlled by SGX-listed Indofood Agri Resources (IndoAgri), offers 3.163 billion shares in the initial public offering (IPO) at Rp1,100 per share to raise Rp3.48 trillion.

The stock gained Rp80 to Rp1,180 in the first five minutes of trading on IDX this morning. As rallies continued, the stock increased further to Rp1,200 to make a 9% gain.

Salim Ivomas will start the trading with market capitalization of Rp17.4 trillion. Underwriters of the IPO are Kim Eng Securities, Deutsche Securities Indonesia, andMandiri Sekuritas.

Vertically integrated agribusiness from research and development, seed breeding, plantation and processing oil palm, also manufacture and markets of cooking oil, margarine and vegetable fat. SIMP group also manages an integrated sugar cane, rubber and other crops.

Salim Ivomas booked net profit of Rp689 billion in the first three months of 2011, while for the whole year of 2010, the company reported net profit of Rp970.9 billion. (teguh@theindonesiatoday.com)
