Theindonesiatoday.com - PT Sigmantara Alfindo, a company controlled by Djoko Susanto, has divested 343 million shares of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya (AMRT) Tbk, operator of Alfamart convenience store outlets, for Rp1.54 trillion.

Sigmantara divested the shares on December 7, 2011 at Rp4,500 per share. With the divestment, Sigmantara's ownership in AMRT declined to 57.99% of the total issued and paid up capital of Alfamart, dropped from 67.99%.

On November 28, 2011, Sigmantara purchased additional 113.96 million shares of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya (AMRT) Tbk for Rp456 billion. Sigmantara purchased the shares at Rp4,000 per share.

Citibank had earlier purchased Alfamart shares for Rp1.54 trillion.

Alfamart shares closed at Rp4,600 Thursday (Dec 1). At that price, Alfamart currently has market capitalization of Rp13.9 trillion.

The company posted net profit of Rp226.34 billion in the first nine months of 2011, surged 49% from Rp152.36 billion in the corresponding period of 2010. It recorded earning per share (EPS) of Rp65.95, compared to Rp44.40 a previous year. The company said revenue increased 33% to Rp13.42 trillion from Rp10.08 trillion a year earlier.

Cost of sales also rose 33% to Rp11.4 trillion from previous Rp8.57 trillion. Then gross profit was Rp2 trillion, a 33% rise compared to Rp1.51 trillion in nine months to September 2010. Operating profit reached Rp322.36 billion, higher than Rp211.19 billion a previous year.

As of June 2011, its assets totaled Rp4.53 trillion while liability amounted Rp2.72 trillion. (Theindonesiatoday.com)
