Theindonesiatoday.com - PT Bakrie and Brothers Tbk (BNBR) plans to divest three units: PT Bakrie Tosanjaya, PT Bakrie Pipe Industries (BPI) dan PT South East Asia Pipe Industries (SEAPI).
Kontan.co.id quoted BNBR director Eddy Soeparno saying divestment mechanism for the three units will not be similar. Bakrie Tosanjaya, for example, will be offered to investors through an initial public offering (IPO) scheduled late this year or early next year.
"One thing is clear, we will maintain majority control over the company," Eddy said, adding the targeted proceeds from the IPO of around Rp1 trillion.
This is considered an ambitious target because Tosanjaya currently has total assets of Rp457.43 billion only. Eddy, however, sets a target of Tosanjaya assets of Rp2.5 trillion at the IPO.
Two other units, BPI and SEAPI, will be offered to investors in Europe, Latin America, and Asia. BNBR currently owns 99% and 98.2% shares in respective company. "The plan is to divest up to 40% ownership," Eddy said. (Indonesia Today)
