Theindonesiatoday.com - State-owned oil and gas company Pertamina and PT Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama have agreed on the master of restructuring agreement (MRA), but pending Pertamina shareholders approval.
Under the agreed MRA, according to Pertamina director M Afdal Bahaudin, TPPI will pay the delayed payment note (DPN) of US$300 million in cash and the issue of stand-by LC of US$100 million on the closing of MRA.
Bisnis Indonesia quoted Bahaudin saying under the MRA, open account receivables (OAR) will be paid with letter of credit. The first LC of US$60 million will be paid in the first five years, while the second for the balance of OAR will be issued before the fifth year of first LC. Interest rate for the LC is LIBOR plus 3%.
TPPI is Indonesia's largest aromatic center, producing paraxylene, benzene, and toluene. The company also produces LPG and motor gasoline (mogas). The company is controlled by PT Tuban Petrochemical Industries 59.5%, Siam Cement 17%, Pertamina 15%, Sojitz Corp 4.25%, and Itochu Corp 4.25%. (ferdi@theindonesiatoday.com)
