Theindonesiatoday.com - State Bank Mandiri has loaned Rp390 billion to state owned port operator Pelindo IV for developing port in East Indonesia region.
Abdul Rachman, institutional banking director of Bank Mandiri, said in press statement that the loan has tenor of 5 years with 6 months grace period.
Bank Mandiri earlier said it has also committed to provide US$1.28 billion loan to Pelindo II for the construction of Kalibaru container port in JAKARTA.
Pelindo IV currently operates 19 ports, 3 port service units and 2 container terminals. It also manages 5 regional ports in 11 provinces.
By end of 2010, Pelindo IV said loading and discharging of goods at all managed ports reached 119 million tons, increased 21% from Rp98 million tons in end of 2009. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
