IDX Below 3,800, Plantation and Blue Chips Lead Losses

Theindonesiatoday.com - Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) closed morning trade lower by 0.28% at 3,790.50 with plantation and blue chips stocks leading losses.

Among the plantation stocks, Tunas Baru Lampung dropped 2.27%, Bakrie Sumatera fell 1.37%, Gozco Plantation lost 1.28%, and PP London Sumatera declined 1.03%. While Astra Agro and Sampoerna Agro closed morning flat.

For blue chip stocks, Astra International shed 1.25%, Bank Mandiri fell 1.41%, Bank BRI slipped 0.77%, and PT Telkom slashed 1.94%. While Bank BCA gained 1.22% and Bank BNI rose 1.22%.

Ultra Jaya Milk Industri rocketed 13.85% on report of acquisition plan while Akasha Wira International also soared 12.84% boosted by its expansion plan.

Some second liners also gained. Panorama Sentrawisata jumped 7.89%, Benakat Petroleum climbed 5.88%, Kalbe Farma lifted 1.40%, and Borneo Lumbung advanced 1.19%.

All Ordinaries lead the regional markets by gaining 1.12%, followed by Hang Seng (1.01%), and KOSPI (0.64%). Nikkei, BSE Sensex, and Straits Times also closed marginally higher.

Crude oil hovers at US$112.63 per barrel at NYMEX for Asian trading. Rupiah was stable at Rp8,628 per US Dollar. Gold, again, stood at another higher level at US$1,515 per ounce today. (bintang@theindonesiatoday.com)
