XL Axiata to Pay Rp911 Billion as Dividend

Theindonesiatoday.com - Third largest mobile phone operator PT XL Axiata Tbk (EXCL) said its shareholders has in annual general meeting today approved the dividend payment of 107 per share, or Rp911 billion in total, for 2010 fiscal year.

The dividend payment represents a 31.51% of net profit. Some Rp1.98 trillion will be used for funding the company's business development.

XL Axiata booked net profit of Rp2.89 trillion in 2010, soared 69.1% from 2009 on strong sales growth and improved margins. Revenue grew by 27% to Rp17.637 trillion, mainly supported by the subscribers growth. XL's subscribers totaled 40.4 million, increased 28% from 31.4 million in 2009.

The company's shareholders also approved the resignation of Berbahagia Dato' Yusof Annuar bin Yaacob as commissioner effective since December 28, 2010 and appointed Muhammad Chatib Basri as new commissioner. The shareholder also appointed Yasmin Stamboel Wirjawan as independent commissioner. No change made for the board of director.

The shareholders also approved the company's management proposal to issue incentive shares, without pre-emptive rights scheme, as part of the company's long term incentive program.

The incentive shares will be only distributed to board of directors and employees for certain level.

Dian Siswarini, EX Axiata's director, said the company also further developing the network with investment cost of Rp5 trillion this year.

She said the company also targets to book revenue of Rp19.19 trillion this year, a 10% increase compared to 2010's. Dian said will add BTS towers to reach 3,000 towers this year, from previous 2,800 towers. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
