Theindonesiatoday.com - Third largest mobile phone operator PT XL Axiata (EXCL) said it expects to book revenue of Rp16.6 trillion, a 20% growth compared to 2009's revenue, Bisnis Indonesia reported this morning.
Hasnul Suhaimi, XL Axiata's president director, said the company's revenue growth in 2010 was supported by some factors, mainly the subscribers growth.
"We are optimistic revenue booked in 2010 can exceed 20% growth supported by our strategic business," he said, but expects the company's revenue will only grow 9-10% for this year along with the expected lower subscribers growth.
Hasnul expects the subscribers growth this year will be lower than last year as the penetration of cellular phone market in Indonesia has reached around 90% of total country's population.
XL Axiata had earlier said its subscribers totaled 40.1 million by end of 2010, increased 27.7 from 31.4 million in 2009.
For this year, Hasnul said, XL Axiata targets subscribers to grow 11-12% to 44.5 million to 44.9 million. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
