Theindonesiatoday.com - The Indonesian shares ended lower today with the JAKARTA Composite Index (JCI) falling 2.74% to close at l3,531.21 1ed by blue chips stocks. The market's sentiment was undermined by the falls in the regional markets.
Bakrie stocks led the fall where BNBR and Bumi crashed 11.54% and 10.92% respectively. UNSP retreated 6.33%, Unilever fall 6.83%, and Bukit Asam dropped 6.5%.
The blue chip stocks were also under pressure. Astra International slashed 4.51%, PT Telkom dropped 1.24%, while Bank BCA and Mandiri crashed 6.2% and 5.88% respectively.
Among energy related stocks, Antam lost 7%, Indo Tambangraya declined 2.68%, UNTR dropped 2.13%, while Medco closed unchanged.
Meanwhile, PT Alfa Midi gained 17.9% in its trading debut. Other gainers were Bank Danamon (+5.69%) and Adaro (+1.09%).
In Asia, Nikkei fall 1.87% followed by Shanghai SSE (-1.61%), FTSE (-0.72%), and Hang Seng (-0.68%).
In New York Mercantile Exchange, oil slipped 0.7% to US$85.13 per barrel. (bintang@theindonesiatoday.com)
