Consumer financing company PT Wahana Ottomitra Multiartha Tbk posted net profit of Rp35.44 billion in the first quarter of 2010, 10 times the profit in Q1 2009, mainly due to lower financing costs and provision for doubtful accounts.
WOM Finance reported total revenues of Rp332.8 billion in Q1 2010, declined 6.2% from the same period last year, mainly due substantial drop in revenues from consumer financing (-39%). But its financing cost also slashed 33% in the period. Provision for doubtful accounts also fell from Rp59.76 billion to Rp19.9 billion.
WOM had total asset of Rp2.52 trillion as of March 31, 2010, dropped from Rp3.616 trillion in March 2009, while equity soared to Rp371.8 billion. Substantial drop in asset is mainly linked to the decline in bank loans from Rp716 billion to Rp153 billion, while bonds payable also declined from Rp1.789 trillion to Rp1.157 trillion.
