Noble Group Buys 5.13% of USEC Inc Shares

SINGAPORE-listed Noble Group Ltd, a global supply chain manager of agricultural, energy, metals and mining resources, announced on Tuesday that it has bought 5.85 million shares in USEC Inc, a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, representing 5.13% of USEC’s common stocks.

“The acquisition of the Shares is not material for the purpose of the Singapore Exchange Listing Rules,” it said. The value of the purchase was not disclosed.

Noble Group (SGX: N21) is a market leader in managing the global supply chain of agricultural, energy, metals and mining resources. The group operates from over 150 offices and plants in 38 countries.

The group manages a diversified portfolio of essential raw materials, integrating the sourcing, marketing, processing, financing and transportation. It owns and manages strategic assets, sourcing from low cost producers such as Indonesia, Brazil, Argentine and Australia and supply to high growth demand markets including China, India and the Middle East.

In 2009, the company posted revenues of exceeding US$31 billion.

Noble has interests in grain crushing facilities, coal and iron ore mines, fuel terminals and storage facilities, sugar and ethanol plants, vessels, ports and other infrastructure.
