State cement producer PT Semen Gresik Tbk will deliver to its shareholders dividend of Rp 1.83 trillion, or Rp 308.45 per share, for the 2009 fiscal year. The decision of dividend payment was made in the shareholders annual general meeting in Friday.
The dividend payment represents a 55 percent of total 2009 net profit (3.33 trillion).
News portal Detikfinance.com reported on Friday Semen Gresik's shareholders also approved the resignation of Navin Sonthalia as the company's vice president director. Navin is the representative of Rajawali Group which had in March 31 sold its 22.8 percent stake in Semen Gresik.
Other directors were still retained pending the selection of new candidates by an appraisal team, the portal quoted State Enterprise Minister Mistafa Abubakar as saying.
Cholil Hasan, Semen Gresik's finance director, said the company had provided funds of US$214 million to start building two cement plants and one power plant this year. Cement plants will be built in Tuban (East Java) and Pangkep (South Sulawesi).
Dwi Soetjipto, Semen Gresik's president director, said the company is also studying to build cement plant in Central Java.
He said Semen Gresik targets net profit to grow by above 10 percent in the first half. The company had sold up to 6.9 million tons of cement during the first five months to May.
