Shipping giant PT Berlian Laju Tanker (BLTA) plans to use approximately 57.8% of the net proceeds from the Rights Issue for financing of vessels that are currently in the construction phase.
The balance of 42.4% will be used as working capital, which includes fuel costs, port charges, vessel maintenance cost, and spare part costs. BLTA offers 5.98 billion new shares with pre-emptive rights. The new shares which will be listed in Indonesia and SINGAPORE Stock Exchange (IDX and SGX) priced at Rp220 per shares.
With that, BLTA will collect Rp1,22 trillion or around US$134 million of fresh fund. BLTA has stated some financial institutions as standby buyers for the issuance such as Deutsche Bank AG, DnB NOR Bank ASA, Standard Chartered Securities Pte Ltd, and PT Danatama Makmur.
One gas tanker and one chemical tanker are expected to be delivered this year, six chemical tankers and one gas tanker for next year, and two chemical tankers plus one gas tanker by 2012.
