JAKARTA, Indonesia Today - PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk (EMTK), a company controlled by Sariaatmadja family, who also controls SCTV and Indosiar, will provide Rp400 billion fund for Indosiar, to help refinance debts, Investor Daily reported this morning.
Arief Cahyadi Wana, EMTK's director, said the company will use loan from PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) Tbk (BBCA) to help refinance Indosiar's debt to BCA. Currently, Elang Mahkota has standby loan facility of Rp2.5 trillion.
"Indosiar's debt to BCA to be refinance carries interest rate of 13-14%," he said, adding the refinancing of debt will help reduce the interest expense.
Arief said Elang Mahkota will next month sign loan facility with interest of below 9% and shareholders had approved the asset guarantee proposal for the loan.
Elang Mahkota had in May 13, 2011 acquired 27.24% IDKM shares owned by PT Prima Visualindo for a total value of Rp496.54 billion. After tender offer, Elang Mahkota controls 84.76% IDKM shares while public remain holds the rest 15.24%. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
