Theindonesiatoday.com - Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended down 2.79% at 3,685.01 on Tuesday (November 1), with big fall occured in afternoon trade along with the regional and global markets.
World stock markets sank Tuesday as new concerns emerged about the viability of a much-heralded plan to contain Europe's debt crisis, AP reported. In Europe, FTSE and DAX dropped 2.68% and 4.17% in early trade on Tuesday.
In regional, Hang Seng led by falling 2.49%, followed by Straits Times -2.33%, Nikkei -1.70%, All Ordinaries -1.45%, BSE -1.27%, and KLSE -1.09%.
In JAKARTA bourse, Borneo Lumbung, the most actively traded stock, plummeted 15.53%, Star Petrochem dropped 11.54%, Energi Mega lost 7.93%, dropped 6.8%, Bumi Resources fell 1.06%, Aneka Tambang lost 1.12%, Bumi Resources lost 8.51%, and Energi Mega slashed 7.93%.
Other losers were Adaro Energy -1.73%, Indofood -4.75%, Aneka Tambang -5.59%, Bank Rakyat Indonesia -2.96%, Bank Mandiri -4.90%, and Charoen Pokphand -6.54%.
Trade was moderate with 4.88 billion shares valued at Rp3.13 trillion changing hands.
Crude oil dropped 2.37% to US$90.98 per barrel in Asian trading. The rupiah weakened to Rp8,893 against the US Dollar. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
