Theindonesiatoday.com - Reignwood International Investment Group Co Ltd has pledged additional 170 million shares of PT Energi Mega Persada (ENRG) Tbk to The Siam Commercial Bank Plc.
Reignwood pledged 100 million ENRG shares on June 23 and another 70 million shares on June 24 to make a total of 6.71 billion ENRG shares pledged to the Thailand bank pursuant to a pledge agreement dated May 19, 2011.
ENRG shares closed higher by 2.5% Thursday (June 30) to Rp205. At that price, total value of ENRG shares pledged to The Siam Commercial Bank has reached Rp1.37 trillion or about US$160 million.
The 6.71 billion shares pledged accounted to 16.5% of total issued shares of ENRG, a company publicly considered controlled by Bakrie Group. At Rp205 per share, Energi Mega Persada currently has market capitalization of Rp8.31 trillion, slightly below US$1 billion.
The company's biggest asset is its 50% ownership in the Kangean oil and gas block. Mitsubishi is main partner of ENRG in the East Java block. (Theindonesiatoday.com)
