IDX Surges 1.52% on Foreign Buying

Theindonesiatoday.com - Following the positive sentiment on regional markets, composite index of the ^{Indonesia Stock Exchange} (^IDX) surged 1.52% to close at 3,888.57.

All Ordinaries led the regional markets by gaining 1.75%, followed by Hang Seng (1.53%), SSE (1.23%), KOSPI (0.30%), KLSE (0.26%), and Nikkei (0.19%).

In top stocks, Astra International lifted 3.25%, Bank BCA jumped 2.68%, Bank Mandiri rose 2.13%, Bank BRI up 1.56%, and PT Telkom gained 1.38%.

Among miners, Berau Coal surged 5.77%, United Tractors jumped 5.29%, Bayan Resources hiked 2.62%, Energi Mega Persada gained 2.50%, and Adaro Energy rose 2.08%. In the other hand, Bumi Resources and Indo Tambangraya Megah declined 1.67% and 0.89% respectively.

Meanwhile, Tunas Baru Lampung and Bumi Teknokultura soared 9.43% and 6.90% respectively in plantation stocks. Astra Agro increased 2.40%, Sampoerna Agro advanced 2.22% and PP London Sumatera added 2.20%.

On second liners stocks, Multi Indocitra rocketed 11.54% with no reports about the company.

Some 4.48 billion shares valued at Rp5.48 trillion changed hands. Gainers led losers by 153 to 80, with 100 stocks unchanged.

Crude oil dropped in the afternoon session at US$94 per barrel on Asian market. Rupiah strengthened against US Dollar to Rp8,597. (bintang@theindonesiatoday.com)
