Theindonesiatoday.com - Retailer PT Matahari Department Store Tbk (LPPF) posted net profit of Rp118.59 billion in the first quarter of 2011, increased 48% compared to Rp79.98 billion in the corresponding period of last year.
The company said revenue rose 10% to Rp498.29 billion from Rp452.57 billion a previous year while cost of good sold grew 6% to Rp313.88 billion.
It booked gross profit of Rp567.39 billion and operating profit of Rp155.72 billion, surged 52% from Rp102.51 billion in the first quarter of 2010.
As of March 2011, the company's assets totaled Rp4.85 trillion while liability amounted Rp3.66 trillion. It has cash and cash equivalent of Rp360.64 billion. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
