JAKARTA, Indonesia Today - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Tbk (BBRI) reported unaudited net profit of Rp14.14 trillion in 2011, grew 23.28% compared to Rp11.47 trillion in previous year.
The profit growth was supported by interest-based income which reached Rp47.47 trillion, increased 5.56% from Rp44.97 trillion in 2010.
However, the loan only increased 14.94% to Rp283.88 trillion from Rp246.97 trillion a previous year, far below industry growth of 24.5%.
Interest charges rose 13.53% to Rp13 trillion from Rp11.45 trillion in 2010, boosted by third party funds that increased to Rp372.08 trillion from Rp328.55 trillion earlier year.
Meanwhile, fee based income also increased to Rp3.07 trillion from previous Rp2.83 trillion.
BRI recorded operating profit of Rp17.44 trillion, higher than Rp14.4 trillion in 2010 while non operating profit declined to Rp409.56 billion from earlier Rp495.88 billion.
As of December 2011, BRI's assets totaled Rp456.38 trillion. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
