JAKARTA, Indonesia Today - PT Bank Mega Tbk (MEGA) plans to issue subordinated bond (subdebt) worth Rp1 trillion in the second half of this year for increasing its capital structure, Bisnis Indonesia reported this morning.
J.B Kendarto, Bank Mega's president director, said the bank's capital adequacy ratio (CAR) stood at 12% at December 2011 and will be reduced due to the loan expansion.
He said the bank targets to boost its CAR to 17% after subdebt issuance.
For this year, Bank Mega targets credit to grow 23% to Rp38.13 trillion, from Rp31 trillion last year and asset to also increase 23% to Rp76.26 trillion, compared to Rp62 trillion in 2011.
Kendarto said this year's loan growth will be mainly supported by micro and small-medium business segment which is expected to grow 25%.
Bank Mega booked net profit of Rp587 billion in first 9 months of 2011, declined 7% from Rp631 billion in the same period of last year. Interest income jumped 28% to Rp3.58 trillion from Rp2.79 trillion a year earlier While net interest income grew 14% to Rp1.73 trillion from previous Rp1.52 trillion. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
