Theindonesiatoday.com - Central bank Bank Indonesia (BI) reported on its website Tuesday (November 15) that national banks booked net profit of Rp56.75 trillion in first 9 months of 2011, grew 30.88% from the same period of last year.
The profit growth was supported by higher non operating income which jumped 50.15% to Rp35.63 trillion, from Rp23.73 trillion a previous year.
While operating income increased 11.27% to Rp287.63 trillion, from previous Rp258.49 trillion. Interest-based income also rose to Rp219.91 trillion from Rp185.75 trillion in first 9 months of 2010.
Operating expense grew 12.44% to Rp250.86 trillion while operating profit reached Rp36.77 trillion.
BI said total disbursed loan was Rp2,079.61 trillion as of September 2011 and third party funds increased to Rp2,544.86 trillion. Total assets of national banks reached Rp2,144.06 trillion.
Currently, national banks totals 122, of which 118 are private banks. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
