Theindonesiatoday.com - PT Bank UOB Indonesia has disbursed loan of Rp33.4 trillion as of June 15, 2011, increased 11.3% from Rp30 trillion for the first quarter period, Investor Daily reported this morning.

Safrullah Hadi Saleh, finance and service director of UOB Indonesia, said the bank target to disburse loan of Rp40 trillion this year.

He said of total loan by June 15, loan to business banking amounted Rp9.6 trillion (31%), commercial banking Rp9 trillion (30%), corporate banking Rp7.4 trillion (24%), consumer banking amounted Rp4 trillion (13%).

The bank booked third party funds of Rp34.4 trillion as of June 15, of which deposits accounted for 60%. As of March 2011, its third party funds totaled Rp32.5 trillion.

Safrullah also claimed that after delisting from stock exchange as a public company, the bank experiences a growth acceleration for business and infrastructure.

"By becoming a private bank, we would not bound by the capital market regulation in accelerating the business growth," he was quoted as saying by Bisnsi Indonesia.

He added the merger with PT Bank Buana also helps boost the volume of business. UOB Indonesia is currently controlled by United Overseas Bank Ltd SINGAPORE (UOB Singapore) (98.99%). (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
