Alfa Retailindo to Delist from IDX

Theindonesiatoday.com - Retailer PT Alfa Retailindo Tbk (ALFA) announces today it plans to delist its shares from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), or go private, as trading of its shares are considered unliquid.

The company will hold extraordinary general meeting (EGM) of shareholders in June 30, 2011 for gaining approval on the plan.

Currently public investors only hold 0.46% ALFA shares. PT Carrefour Indonesia controls 99.54% shares. Carrefour's shareholders are PT Trans Retail (40%), Carrefour SA (39.02%), Onesia BV (11.47%) and Carrefour NBV (9.51%).

The company said it will tender offer shares at price of Rp4,500 per share, 87.50% premium from Rp2,400, highest price for past 90 days or 72.94% premium from ALFA fair value of Rp2,602 per share set by an independent appraiser.   

ALFA booked net loss of Rp41.09 billion in 2010 on revenue of Rp1.6 trillion. Its assets totaled Rp673.05 billion while liability amounted Rp 401.69 billion.

Carrefour booked net profit of Rp6.75 billion on revenue of Rp12.41 trillion. Its assets totaled Rp4.97 trillion while liability amounted Rp3.91 trillion. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
