Theindonesiatoday.com - PT Bank UOB Buana posted profit after tax of Rp189.58 billion in the first quarter (Q1) of 2011, dropped 36% from Rp222.79 billion in the corresponding period of last year.
It booked net interest income of Rp487.35 billion, increased 3.8% from Rp469.73 billion in the first quarter of 2010. The bank booked interest income of Rp830.14 billion with net interest margin of 5.71%.
As operating expenses excluding interest rose 13.5% to Rp455.86 billion, the bank reported lower operating profit of Rp244.13 billion, compared to Rp289.44 billion a previous year.
As of March 2011, its assets totaled Rp42.54 trillion, of which credits amounted Rp29.88 trillion. It book third party funds of Rp32.37 trillion, of which time deposit accounted for Rp20.82 trillion.
Compared to first quarter of 2010, the bank said, its credit grew 27.89% while third party funds jumped 30.38%. Capital adequacy ratio (CAR) stood at 21.11%. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
